The series takes us on a spectacular journey to Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falkland Islands, where Julia encounters stunning landscapes, extraordinary wildlife and unique communities.
From vast icefields and towering glaciers to windswept coastlines and polar seas, Julia uncovers stories of the people, wildlife and delicate ecosystems that survive against the odds in a world shaped by ice, wind and extreme cold.
On her mission to explore the Frozen South, Julia visits rugged islands that are home to millions of penguins and seals, camps overnight in Antarctica and travels to isolated bays to witness the mighty humpback whales feeding.
It’s an emotional journey for Julia, immersing herself in this remarkable environment, reflecting on her own life, family and health, as she discovers how some of Antarctica’s most iconic wild animals survive and thrive in one of the most hostile places on the planet.
